Ready to try a delicious twist on an old classic? Visit Carriage House Farms for the best local honey. Select the freshest mint from Dark Wood Farm or bring a plant home from Phoenix Greenhouses and Farm. Grab yourself a muddler or wooden spoon and tall pitcher. Now you are ready to make a Honey Mint Julep.
Ingredients
8 mint leaves
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons boiling water
2 tablespoons bourbon (optional)
2 tablespoons sparkling water (optional)

Preparation
To make the honey mint syrup:
Place the honey and mint into a pyrex measuring cup. Pour in the boiling water. With a muddler or the end of a wood spoon, crush the mint leaves in the water. Let stand until cool. Strain out the mint leaves.

To make the cocktail:
Combine the honey mint syrup with bourbon. Add ice and garnish with a mint leaf.

To make a non-alcoholic cocktail:
Combine the honey mint syrup with sparkling water. Add ice and garnish with a mint leaf.
