Place the potatoes in a pot of water and add a half teaspoon of salt. Bring the potatoes to a boil, then turn down the heat and simmer until tender. Drain and allow to cool slightly.
Being careful not to burn your fingers, cut the potatoes into fourths. Add a tablespoon (or more!) of butter to the pan and gently toss the potatoes to allow the butter to melt. Chop dill (as much or as little as you'd like, to taste) and mix with potatoes. Serve warm.
